Infected Mushroom, the world-famous techno group that combined traditional Jewish themes with an incredible electronic beat on Oct. 30, is back this Friday at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. For several years, Infected Mushroom has been famous for their high-energy stage shows. Unlike most other electronic groups, who simply layer beats onstage, Infected Mushroom performs with a full onstage band, featuring drums, guitar, keyboard, and Duvdev, the most energetic lead singer ever to cross a techno stage. Duvdev, who co-founded the group in 1998, literally makes the show, controlling the entire crowd's energy with a simple flip of his hand. If you've never seen Infected Mushroom before, the show will affect you on a very fundamental level. (If you have seen them before, then you need no convincing.) Appearing with Dyloot, popular on the San Francisco trance scene, and Christopher Lawrence, Infected Mushroom's show will start at 8:00 pm (doors at 7). Tickets are available here, for $30-33. Look out for an exciting review in the weeks following the show. EBAC will examine the influences and development of a "trans-national" band. After the show, send us your thoughts and observations!...
